What Does It Do? The FOC820 converts Coaxial (phono) signals to Optical (Toslink) signals. To convert you simply plug an Optical cable into one side of the FOC820 and a phono plug into the other. The FOC820 comes with its own power supply. How does It Work? Converts a digital signal to a Toslink Optical signal. This compact unit is easy to install and operate - just connect your cables and it's ready to use. Why Would I Want This? Generally the coaxial (or electrical) digital connection is supposed to give better performance than Optical. However some digital audio products only feature the fibre optic (or Toslink) type of connector. For example, you may have a DVD or VCR that only has coaxial output and a surround sound amplifier which only features optical inputs. How do you connect them? The FOC820 or something like it is the only way of linking such devices. Guarantee One year manufacturer's guarantee. |
