What's The Point?

CompactFlash cards are read by your camera, PDA, phone, USB reader or whatever by electrical contacts. The CompactFlash card will get dust, particles of skin, sweat from your fingers and all sorts of other stuff on it as a matter of course. This gunk will affect the devices you put the CompactFlash card into. At best it could slow reading and writing transfer down a bit. At worst you could lose data or shorten the life of the card or even the device.
