The Memory Stick card will get dust, particles of skin, sweat from your fingers and all sorts of other stuff on it as a matter of course. This gunk will affect the devices you put the Memory Stick card into. At best it could slow reading and writing transfer down a bit. At worst you could lose data or shorten the life of the card or even the device.
