What's This Then? The Humax F2-FOX T is a Freeview set-top box allowing you to receive all the free to air digital channels. There is no subscription payment - you just buy the Humax F2-FOX T and that's it! The F2-FOX T is ideal for digital terrestrial broadcast reception. Easy To Use? Humax have designed the Humax F2-FOX T to be very easy to use and set up. Everything is managed from the On Screen Display. The set up procedure guides you through the process step by step. And even the software upgrades which allow you to add new channels and features are automatic. Digital Receiver Features? The number of free channels is always increasing so it's nice to know that the Humax F2-FOX T can manage up to 200 channels. There are regular software upgrades allowing you more features and channels in the future. You can display the channel list any way you like, by name, number favourites etc. You can have 5 Favorite channel groups (maximum of 100 channels in each group), so every family member can have their own favorite channels grouped together. For anyone hard of hearing the subtitle support on the Humax F2-FOX T is particularly good as it supports both EBU and DVB subtitles. Connectivity? You
get RF (aerial) In and Out ports. This means that it can be connected to a non-Scart
TV. The Humax F2-FOX T has two Scart outputs, one goes to the TV and the other
can go to anything you like but would usually go to a VCR so that you can record
Freeview programs on tape. The Scart sockets mean that you have to use your own
Scart cables (it does come with one Scart lead), but it also means that the positioning
of the F2-FOX T is only limited by the length of the cable you choose to use.
The Humax F2-FOX T also has a pair of stereo phono outputs (for your amp) and
a video phono out too. It also has an optical connection for linking the Humax
F2-FOX T to a Dolby Digital surround sound system. It also has a RS232C data port
with a transfer rate of 115 kbps. Anything Really Good? Built in RF Modulator. If you need one of these a separate one would cost you at least £25. The RF modulator works like a VCR RF modulator - so it passes on the RF analogue channels it receives. Installing It? Installing the Humax F2-FOX T is very easy. There
is a menu system and all you do is follow the instructions. You get a video preview
window, which makes things even easier. You can sort the channels into whatever
order you want (alphabetical, in number order or favorites). Anything Else? The Humax F2-FOX T has a very useful child lock. The Video format is adjustable to 4:3, 16:9 and letterbox. To beam the TV signal around your home you could use a transceiver system, like the Philex Wand. Not sure what this means? Go to our TV Jargon Buster page. Award Humax manufacture in the UK.
