USB Parallel Printer Cable? There are printers that do not have USB connections (usually older ones), and there are computers without parallel ports (or they are being used for something else). This IXOS XUC02 USB Parallel Printer Adapter cable allows you to connect to a printer using USB. How Does It Work? The IXOS XUC02 USB Parallel Printer Adapter is bi-directional (so data passes both ways). The USB plug goes into your computer and at the other end you have a parallel printer plug (also known as a IEEE-1284). All you have to do is connect the two machines and it should just plug and play. You will need a driver for Windows 98SE and this is included on the accompanying CD. Anything Else? The IXOS USB Parallel Printer Adapter is great for mobile computing. It supports data transfer of up to 1.2Mb per second (which is a lot faster than the printer can print anyway). The cable is 1m in length. The adapter and cable are made to extremely high standards and all the connectors are 24 karat hard gold plated. Apart from all that, aesthetically - like all IXOS kit - this is a very nice looking device. A driver CD is included for Windows 98SE and the cable should work without drivers with other operating systems, the only exception is when it is used with GDI printers and Windows XP where there seems to be a compatibility problem. Guarantee One year manufacturer's guarantee. Why not take a look at the manufacturer's web site: www.ixos.co.uk? |
