Artisan?

The KitchenAid Artisan Toaster range is the latest in a long line of excellent kitchen products from KitchenAid.

KitchenAid are most famous for their food mixers, in particular the KitchenAid KSM150 Artisan food mixer. The KitchenAid mixers have dominated the high end food mixer market for eighty years. This toaster is a relatively new departure for them, but it is made to the same very high exacting specifications as the mixer range.

What's So Special About Them

It's hard to convey the quality of these KitchenAid Artisan Toasters in words. They have a solid quality about them and it's obvious from looking at the construction that they are built to last. The Artisan Toaster body is made from die cast metal and stainless steel. The slots are wider than normal toaster slots, so the KitchenAid Artisan toasters can take a wide variety of bread sizes and even thick bagels, buns, crumpets etc. The Artisan 2 Slice Toaster has separate controls for each pair of toasting slots, so you can even toast different breads for different lengths of time simultaneously. There is none of that automatic pop up rubbish with the Artisan Toasters, instead when the toast is done a tone will sound and the function light stops glowing, the toast stays inside the toaster until you raise the manual lift lever - this way it stays warm until you are ready.

What About Optional Attachments?

There are two available, the bun warmer and the sandwich rack. The bun warmer is OK, although we find that most buns, once cut in half, fit inside the toaster anyway. The sandwich rack is OK as long as the filling is not too runny, otherwise you tend to end up with burnt on filling in the toaster's crumb tray.
