Active USB Extension Cable?

An Active USB Extension Cable is different to Passive USB Extension Cable in that with active USB extension cable the signal passing through the lead is amplified by the cable's built in repeater. This cable buffers the data passing through it (both upstream and downstream). This buffering ensures signal quality.

How Does It Work?

The Newlink 5m Active USB 2.0 Extension Lead can be cascaded so that it can bridge much longer gaps. Alternatively you can add more of the Newlink Active 5m USB 2.0 Extension Leads to give an even longer length. You can daisy chain up to five of these leads giving you up to 25m (depending upon the USB 2.0 device connected).

Anything Else?

The Newlink 5m Active USB 2.0 Extension Lead does not need an additional power adapter (current draw is only 5mA). It is 100 percent compatible with USB 2.0 electrical and timing specifications.
