Newlink 11g 54Mbps Wireless DSL Router is a Wireless Network DSL Router that will allow a PC with a wireless Network card to connect to other PCs on the wireless network and to the Internet. How Does It Work? A Wireless DSL Router is a device that forms a link between PCs equipped with a wireless PCI card or PCMCIA adapter and allows them to be networked together wirelessly. It has 4 10/100 Mbps fast ethernet ports for connecting 4 PCs with Cat5e network cable. The Newlink Wireless DSL Router also has 1 10/100 Mbps WAN port for ADSL / Cable Modem connection with Auto MDI-X function.
This Newlink Wireless DSL Router is a 802 11g capable at running at up to 54Mbps. Security? The
Newlink Wireless DSL Router has Firewall protection, virtual server mapping, virtual
PC mapping and it supports WPA security protection. What this means is that the
router is very secure (more secure than any software firewall). The Newlink Wireless
DSL Router also supports wireless data encryption with 64 / 128-bit WEP standard
for security Why Would I Want This? It's all about flexibility really. A wireless network allows you to add and subtract PCs and peripherals quickly and easily. This particular Wireless DSL Router can handle data at very fast rates - up to 54Mbps - fast enough for streaming audio and video.
