Active USB Extension Cable is different to Passive USB Extension Cable in that with active USB extension cable the signal passing through the lead is buffered by the cable's IC chip. This buffering assures that the connection will meet the electrical and timing specifications of USB and carry a clear and clean signal with no errors.

How Does It Work?

The Philex 2.4m Active USB Extension Lead acts as a transparent USB hub and buffers all downstream and upstream data traffic. The Philex Active USB Extension Lead works with both low and high-speed devices. Also because it is an active USB extension lead it can be daisy chained. You can have up to five of these cables connected together to give you 40 feet of active USB extension.

The Philex Active USB Extension Lead is shielded with aluminized wrap foil with 28 AWG drain wire and copper mesh over wire.
