QED Q-SYNC Specialist RGB Lead

RGB

The QED Q-SYNC is a specialist RGB lead. What it does, is allow you to connect a Scart socket RGB device (such as a DVD Player) to a visual display (projector, Plasma TV etc.) that has a 15-pin HD D-type sockets. In particular the Q-Sync is intended for a screen that needs a separate TTL level sync signal to be present on pin 13 of the D-type connector. If that sounds like gobbledygook, don't worry, it does to many people. However, if you have the right kind of screen, the QED Q-Sync will provide you with the best picture it is possible to have bar none.

What Do You Get?

Basically the Q-Sync consists of a very high quality QED Scart plug connected by a lead 1m long, to a aluminium box. This aluminium box is the QED Sync Extractor and this needs to be plugged into the mains (power adapter is provided). You also get a free very high quality 2m 15 pin HD VGA cable (not pictured) which plugs into the Q-Sync and goes to your screen.

What Does It Do?

The QED Q-Sync gives you perfect separate horizontal and vertical sync signals on pins 13 and 14. This is better than other (passive) devices and better than leads that use the SCART pin 8 voltage. QED Q-Sync is an active device which gives best possible signal and best possible timing (that's the sync bit).

What Are the Parts?

Attached to the Q-Sync aluminium box there is a very high quality QED RGB 1m Scart lead. This is connected to the aluminium box. Inside this box is all the active sync extraction circuitry. You also get a power adapter to power the Q-Sync and a free very high quality 2m VGA cable to connect from the Q-Sync to your screen.

What About Compatibility?

The QED Q-Sync is not compatible with every model of screen. Below is a list of more common screens that it is compatible with. If you want to know if your screen is compatible with Q-Sync please E-mail us.

QED Q-Sync is compatible with the following plasma TVs: Fujitsu PDS4229E, Fujitsu PDS5002E, Panasonic TH42PW5DW, Panasonic PW3 and PW5, Phillips 42PF9964, Pioneer PDP433HDE, Pioneer PDP503HDE, Sony 42BIE.

It is also compatible with: Sanyo PLV21 projectors.

The above are the devices listed by QED, there are many more compatible devices. As a quick guide to compatibility - the display device's VGA input must be able to accept a PAL video signal with a horizontal scan rate that goes dow as far as 15.625kHz and a vertical scan rate that goes down to 50Hz. This covers virtually all the plasma TVs made for the European market in the last year.
