Is It?
The Skyline Freeview satellite kit is a kit containing all the things you need to receive Freeview programs through a satellite dish. Perfect for anyone who would like to receive Freeview but lives in an area where it is not available through the aerial. The kit contains a satellite dish, a satellite Freeview box, 10m of satellite grade coaxial cable, a Scart lead and all the necessary components and fixings. What TV Channels Are Included? More channels are being added all the time, but there are hundreds of free TV channels and many DAB Digital radio channels. For instance all the BBC channels (all regions), all the ITV channels (all regions), CBeebies, CBBC, BBC News 24, CNN and many more. Depending upon how you set up your dish you may be able to view many foreign channels too. For instance we found a mass of free Indian subcontinent channels including DM Digital, DM Gold, AAG (Pakistan), DD India, Bangla, Raj TV, Prime TV and PTV Global. We also found some East Asian Channels such as PCNE Chinese and CCTV 9 (Chinese English Language News). There were also other free channels such as MTA Muslim TV, Islam TV, Noor TV, Al Jazeera, Abu Dhabi TV, South Africa Direct, OBE (African Christianity) a mass of Christian channels (including all the GOD channels), music channels such as B4, Bliss, Flaunt, NME TV, The Vault, Word, Clubland, Fizz and Rockworld. Fashion TV channel, Horse and Country, Zone Reality, Men and Motors, adult channels, Psychic TV (for the gullible), Bloomberg News Channel, France 24 and loads more What TV Channels Are Not Included? At the moment there are some channels that you can get on terrestrial Freeview that are not yet on Satellite Freeview, most notably Channel 4 (although you can get Film 4) Five, Sky 3 and Dave. Sorting Out The Channels There is a very useful function that allows you to find a channel by its name. This is vital as the channel numbering on Satellite Freeview is all over the place. Equally vital is the function that allows you to group channels into favourite lists. |
Is There Anything Else I Need ? The only other thing you may need is a satellite finder to make the alignment of the dish easier. We sell a few, prices start at £6.99. Please see our Satellite TV Accessories page. What Is the Freeview Box Like? Excellent for its low price. You have two Scart sockets (one to a TV and one to recorder), RF out (called IF out on this box), two RF sockets to put an aerial into and out of, analogue audio out (2 phonos, left and right), S-VHS and a digital audio output to connect to a surround sound system. The Freeview box has a zoom function, you can also control the TV volume through the Freeview box. Anything Else? You have to fit the dish yourself and it needs to face south.
