The Grado SR-80 utilizes a 4 conductor connecting cable and large ear cushions to provide a good open soundstage and high quality bass. John Grado says he tried for the best possible headphones for the money - and he did it.

What About The Sound?
Grado have worked hard to optimize the tonal quality of the SR-80 by using dynamic transducers in an open-air configuration - this means that the ear cups are open-backed. The result is a wonderful smooth, coherent sound with detailed dynamics. Frequency response ranges from 20 Hz - 20 kHz and the drivers are matched to 0.05dB. The large non resonant air chamber is made from Polymer.
