This HQ INV300U 300 Watt Power Inverter connects to a 12 Volt car, van or boat battery and inverts the power to provide mains electricity. The HQ INV300U 12V 300 Watt power inverter connects either directly to the car or boat battery with the supplied jumper leads or to an in-car cigarette lighter (also supplied).

The HQ INV300U 12 Volt 300W Power Inverter has a UK/Ireland power socket that can take UK style 3 pin plugs, and has a continuous maximum power output of 300 Watts. To get the full 300 Watts of power output the power inverter needs to be connected directly to the battery. Connected via the cigarette lighter the maximum output will be about 150 Watts. The initial start up rating is 600W this accounts for the startup surge that you get with many appliances.

Special Feature
Rather unusually this HQ INV300U 12V inverter comes with a USB socket this means that you can also charge items that use a USB socket - this would include some PDAs, Sat Navs, mobile phones and MP3 Players. The HQ INV300U inverter is highly efficient (90%).

What Can I Use It With?
The power source must be a 12 Volt battery! You can power just about anything with a rating of 300W or below. This would include most portable TVs, notebook computers, battery chargers, video cameras, portable hi-fis, electric shavers etc. This is a modified sine wave inverter, so is ideal for everything except capacitive loads (such as fluorescent lighting), for these it would be best to use a pure sine wave inverter. Do not use a modified sine wave inverter with fluorescent lighting, the capacitive load may damage the inverter.

The HQ INV300U 12V 300 Watt Power Inverter stabilized output voltage and overload protection. It also has a low voltage alarm and low voltage cut out - this stops you from flattening the vehicle battery. Over temperature shutdown at 60 +/- 5 degrees Celsius.
