This Power Bright ERP200 200 Watt 12 Volt Power Inverter connects to a 12 Volt car, van or boat battery and inverts the power to provide mains electricity (220-240V AC). The Power Bright ERP200 200 Watt 12V power inverter connects either directly to the vehicle battery or to an in-car cigarette lighter (leads are provided for both kind of connection). The Power Bright ERP200 200 Watt 12 Volt Power Inverter has a universal 3 pin power socket - this means that it can accept 3 pin plugs from the UK and Ireland and two or three pin plugs from any other European countries. The Power Bright ERP200 has a continuous power output of 200 Watts. It's highest possible wattage for short periods is 400 Watts. This higher wattage is designed to accommodate the power surge that you often get with appliances when they are first turned on.

What Can I Use It With?
Everything with a rating of 200 Watts or below. This would include most portable TVs, some notebook computers, battery chargers, video cameras, portable hi-fis, electric shavers, low wattage power tools etc. This is a modified sine wave inverter, so is ideal for everything except capacitive loads (such as fluorescent lighting), for these it would be best to use a pure sine wave inverter. Do not use a modified sine wave inverter with fluorescent lighting, domestic refrigerators or with power tool fast chargers, the capacitive load may damage the inverter. Also, if you wish to use the inverter with an extension lead do not use a lead which has surge/spike protection as these also have storage capacitors.

Safety?
The Power Bright ERP200 200 Watt comes with battery low/high warning and shut-down protection to prevent you draining or damaging the battery. There is short circuit and overload protection as well as over temperature protection. To help keep the temperature low the unit is fan cooled.
