Inverter-Chargers
Power Inverter-Chargers are designed for use where mains power is not reliable. While mains power is on, the Inverter-Charger keeps the battery or batteries it is connected to fully charged, as soon as the power goes off the Power Inverter-Charger switches to drawing power from the batteries and converting that power into AC (mains power). Some Inverter-Chargers switch more quickly than others. The ones that switch in microseconds are often used as a long running UPS system to keep computer servers or other vital equipment running.
Inverter-Chargers are also very popular in some hot countries such as Nigeria, Pakistan etc. There they are used as back up power for a home or business. A large capacity Inverter-Charger will keep the food in the freezer cold and the air conditioning on through a long power outage (subject to there being enough batteries connected to it).
How long an Inverter-Charger will work for with the power off has nothing to do with the inverter-charger itself. It depends on the number, capacity and charge status of the battery or batteries that are connect to it.
