Power Inversion?
This Sun-2500 2500 Watt Power Inverter connects to a 12 Volt car, van or boat battery and inverts the power to provide mains electricity. The Sun-2500 2500 Watt 12V power inverter connects directly to the car or boat battery with the supplied round end leads. The Sun-2500 2500W 12 Volt Power Inverter has two universal 3 pin AC power sockets and will take UK or European Schuko plugs. The unit has a continuous maximum power output of 2500 Watts.

What Can I Use It With?
Everything with a rating of 2500W or below. This would include TVs, DVD players, power tools (check the tool's rating to be sure), computers, microwave ovens, video cameras, portable hi-fis, electric shavers etc. This is a modified sine wave inverter, so is ideal for everything except heavy inductive and capacitive loads, for these it would be best to use a pure sine wave inverter.
Do not use a modified sine wave inverter with fluorescent lighting, domestic refrigerators or with power tool fast chargers, the capacitive load may damage the inverter. Also, if you wish to use the inverter with an extension lead do not use a lead which has surge/spike protection as these also have storage capacitors. This Sun-2500 Power Inverter can manage a load of 5000 Watts for a short time on start up. This is to account for the start up surge that you get with some appliances.

Safety?
The Sun-2500 2500 Watt Power Inverter has heavy duty fuse protection. The unit is fused and comes with eight spare spade fuses.

The Sun-2500 is a soft start inverter so it can power most reactive loads. It is a modified sine wave output inverter with reduced noise on output, so it is suitable for most electronic apparatus.

When the Sun-2500 is working at full power it will draw a very large current – over 150 amps. If the supply voltage drops to 10.5v there is a high pitched audible warning. If the voltage drops to 10v the overload trips or the fuses blow. This is to protect the batteries from being completely flattened. For use with inverters like this deep cycle batteries are better than car or leisure batteries.

If the batteries are charged by an engine (car or boat), it helps to have the engine running, (charging) when using a large load. Inverters are temperature sensitive - in use they create heat and their capacity depends on their ability to dissipate this heat. Allow good ventilation. Operating ambient temperature 5 to 25 degrees Celsius. Above 20 degrees the power capacity drops off.

Battery Connection
The Sun-2500 has four battery connections (2 positive and 2 negative) and comes with four sets of connection leads. This means it can be connected to two 12V batteries. Connection to two 12V batteries would make the inverter work more efficiently under a heavy load as long as the batteries are identical or of similar size and capacity. If you connect to one 12V battery then all four terminals need to be connected (both positives to the positive terminal of the battery and both negatives to the negative terminal of the battery).
