What Does It Do? The Xitel USB Inport Deluxe is a sound processor that connects to your PC via the USB port. Then you plug in a sound source such as a tape player, vinyl etc. and you can transfer the music to your PC. The sound source must have analog audio outputs. Why Would I Want This? Once the sound is on your PC you can burn it to CD, make it into an MP3 file, import it into another piece of software such as a sampler or music generator. Our first sale of this went to the members of a band who have studio tapes that they want to remaster on a PC and then burn CDs of. What About Operating System? Windows 98SE, Windows 2000, Windows ME or Windows XP. ME users must have installed Microsoft USB audio updates. What Software Do You Get? Included with
the Xitel Inport Deluxe are recording and track compiling programs by
CFB Software (LP Recorder and LP Ripper). These programs let you record
and manage your files in a very simple and easy to use way, overcoming
the complexities associated with most recording software. For instance
the software can set the recording levels automatically and divide the
tracks into individual songs, there are visual level meters to check
recording levels before and during recording, it has skipping and clipping
protection and detection, pause recording (this is useful if recording
a selection of tracks from different LPs), calculation of the remaining
recording time, based on the free space on your disk and many more features.
The Xitel Inport Deluxe also comes with Wave Corrector software. This automatically removes pops, clicks and crackles. Anything

More Software Features Once the music is recorded onto your computer you can further refine it with the included software. There are loads of things you can do but we found the most useful features to be the ability to listen to previews of the tracks, being able to adjust the fade-in / fade-out of selected tracks and - best of all - we replaced the hiss between tracks with silence.
